Who Should Attend

Who should attend IHPBA 2026?

The 22nd Annual National Conference of the Indian Chapter of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA India) is a specialized medical event focused on advancing knowledge, research, and clinical practices in hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) disorders, including diseases of the liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

Recommended Attendees:

HPB Surgeons

Surgeons who specialise in hepatobiliary, pancreatic, or liver surgery. Particularly those involved in complex resections, minimally invasive HPB procedures, transplant surgery etc.

Liver Transplant Surgeons & Teams

Surgeons involved in transplantation, or whose work connects with transplant, since HPB topics overlap significantly with transplant in India.

General Surgeons with HPB Interest

Even if they are not full-time HPB specialists, surgeons with interest in liver, pancreas, biliary tree diseases will benefit (to learn newer techniques, advances, controversies).

Gastroenterologists & Hepatologists

Clinicians dealing with non‐surgical management of liver / pancreas / biliary diseases. For example, for tumour board work, multidisciplinary care.

Radiologists & Interventional Radiologists

Imaging plays a large role in HPB disease; interventional radiology (e.g. chemoembolization, drainage, etc.) is often integral.

Endoscopists

For biliary tree work, pancreatic duct interventions, EUS (endoscopic ultrasound), etc.

Pathologists

To understand surgical specimens, staging, tumour margin issues etc.

Anaesthetists / Transplant Anesthetists

Especially those working in HPB / transplant settings (liver/pancreas), as they need to understand perioperative challenges.

Surgical Residents / Fellows / Post‐graduates

Those in training (MS, DNB, MCh etc.) who are looking to gain exposure, learn new techniques, present their work, network.

Researchers & Scientists

Basic scientists or clinical researchers who work on liver / pancreatic / biliary disease biology, translational research, technology/innovation in surgical techniques, imaging etc.

Other professionals:

Allied health experts (e.g., nurses, physician assistants) focused on HPB patient care, as well as industry representatives from medical device or pharmaceutical sectors related to HPB treatments.
